Students must arrive on time at school which starts at 8:30am sharp. A one minute warning bell rings at 8:29am and at the end of each break so students know that they must start moving to roll call, assembly or to class. School operates between 8.30am and 2.55pm and students should not arrive too early each day as there is no active staff supervision outside these hours. If an emergency arises outside regular school hours, students should come to the front office for assistance.

The front office is open from 8.00am to 3.30pm and anybody wishing to contact either students or staff during school hours must first come to the office. The school has a security fence and during school hours, the only access is via Cowper Street. Outside school hours, school premises are off limits to the general public.

After school detention is run three days per week. On Tuesday, it finishes at 2:15 pm and on Wednesday and Friday, it finishes at 3:30 pm.

Mostly, school periods are 50 minutes. On Thursday Terms 2 and 3, periods are 45 minutes to allow students time to travel to and from grade sport venues.
